Day 59 - Vermilion Valley Resort. 878.8 (8.8)

Kevin Silvernale December 11, 2016

Mileage Breakdown: 7.4 miles on the PCT + 1.4 miles to the Edison Lake Ferry = 8.8 miles.

Slept in till 6:45!  It was fantastic getting caught up on much needed sleep.

All packed up and on the trail by 9:15, the trail was relatively flat then it went straight up to Bear Creek Ridge.

At the top of the ridge, I met up with Leah and we walked the last 4.5 miles to the ferry.  Once on the ferry, we were informed this was the first passage of boat across the lake. That made for a tense ride.. But it had amazing views.

The shorter day was great and having the afternoon in VVR was very relaxing. VVR is setup just for hikers. Food, beer, free camping and Wifi for $8/hr.  I needed to pay some bills so I bought an hour and sent texts to everyone back home (I couldn't make phone calls over the wifi).
